There’s a famous saying along the Jersey shore,
“A vacation just isn’t a vacation without a pizza at Maruca’s.”

With their unmistakable cheese and “signature swirl “of sauce, Maruca’s Tomato Pies have been a Jersey Shore staple for generations. Known for their bold, old‑world flavor and unmistakable style, Maruca’s has earned its place as a true boardwalk legend.
Our story began in 1950 in Trenton, New Jersey, when four brothers—Anthony, Pasquale, Joseph, and Dominick Maruca—set out to build a better future for their family. They chose to turn their shared love of family and food into something lasting.
Under Anthony’s leadership, the Maruca family opened their first small, family‑run pizza shop. Later that same year, they brought their tomato pies to the Jersey Shore, opening on the iconic Seaside boardwalk. What started as a leap of faith quickly became a beloved destination.
Over the decades, as pizza trends came and went, Maruca’s stayed true to what mattered most—quality, consistency, and tradition. Our commitment to being “the Best on the Boards” isn’t just a slogan; it’s a promise we honor with every pie we serve.
While locations have changed over the years our dedication has never wavered. Each tomato pie reflects the same passion, care, and craftsmanship that defined Maruca’s from the very beginning. We are located in JR’s bar, where you can enjoy a beer or a drink with your pie. We also offer a full menu of boardwalk favorites.
Today, Maruca’s Tomato Pies is more than just food—they’re part of the Jersey Shore experience. For many, summer isn’t complete without a stop on the boardwalk and the unforgettable taste of a Maruca’s tomato pie. It’s a tradition more than 75 years in the making, and one we’re proud to continue.
